Job summary

SWTRA is seeking a Network Manager to lead and deputise for the Strategic Manager for Network Operations and Resilience. You will be responsible for the overall management of the South Wales Trunk Road Agent, with specific accountability for Network Management and ensuring the Strategic Road Network supports safe and reliable journeys.

Responsibilities

• Support the Strategic Manager (Network Operations and Resilience) and deputise as necessary, in the overall management of the South Wales Trunk Road Agent, with specific responsibility for Network Management.
• Be accountable and provide leadership, direction and operational management support to the Network Management team in achieving its delivery objectives.
• Promote, develop and effective performance of the agent in the provision of a broad portfolio of high-quality network management services.
• Ensure the Strategic Road Network in South Wales supports the travelling public, delivering safe journeys and reliable journey times.

Responsibilities

To support the Strategic Manager (Network Operations and Resilience) and deputise as necessary, in the overall management of the South Wales Trunk Road Agent, with specific responsibility for Network Management. You will be a member of the SWTRA Senior Management team and be expected to be accountable and provide leadership, direction and operational management support to the Network Management team in achieving its delivery objectives.

To be responsible for the promotion, development and effective performance of the agent in the provision of a broad portfolio of high-quality network management services to ensure that the Strategic Road Network in South Wales is able to support the travelling public moving safely and to provide reliable journey times.

Services within Network Management for which you will be responsible include:

• Incident Management
• Resilience Planning/ Civil Contingencies Act
• Tunnel Management
• Winter and Adverse weather planning
• Climate adaptation planning
• Road Space Coordination and Major Event planning & management
• New Roads and Street works management
• Abnormal Loads routing
• Welsh Government Traffic Officer Service
• Traffic Management Centre Control Room Service
