Job description

The role will be a hybrid model with a minimum of two days per week based at the Network office located at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

There is also an expectation twice a month that a working day will take place on the St Barts Hospital site. Non-office days involve remote work via MS Teams. During the induction period, there will be an expectation to be available at the office onsite up to five days a week. The length of the induction period is subject to satisfactory progression. Additionally, there will be ad hoc visits to network hospitals and regional/national face-to-face meetings (travel reimbursable).

The One Heart Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) Network, part of the North Thames Paediatric Network, has an exciting opportunity either at fixed term or secondment as a Network Manager for Congenital Heart Disease. There may also be opportunities to be involved in other NTPN projects.

We seek a driven and experienced operational manager or nurse/ODP with management skills, ideally with knowledge of cardiac services in the NHS. The candidate should meet the essential and professional requirements outlined in the person specification.

The post holder will work as part of the Network Leadership Team alongside the Clinical Director and Lead Nurse, with close collaboration with cardiac teams at Great Ormond Street Hospital, St Barts Hospital, Integrated Care Systems, and the NHS England London Regional Team.

You will be part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary Network team, primarily managing the One Heart CHD Network (about 80%) and supporting some ad-hoc North Thames Paediatric Network projects (about 20%), as determined by the North Thames Paediatric Network Director.

Proven project management skills and confident leadership are essential, including representing the network at national and regional meetings. The role involves planning, coordinating project delivery, and engaging the network constituency as needed. The Network Manager will be ultimately responsible to NHS England London region for the delivery of the network, alongside the Network Director. This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking the next step in NHS management and leadership careers.

The North Thames Paediatric Network has a reputation for a welcoming and supportive culture that emphasizes team development and career advancement.
