We are working with an Investment Manager in London seeking an experienced Infrastructure and Network Engineer.

The role focuses on maintaining the firm’s hybrid cloud, network, Internet, and server connectivity infrastructure, and the Palo Alto firewall estate for a demanding business environment. The individual will handle issues related to On-Prem/Cloud Infrastructure, networking problems, and routine network upgrades. The candidate must be hands-on and experienced with Azure, Juniper, PaloAlto systems, M365, and Windows Server. Knowledge of IaC concepts, scripting with PowerShell and Terraform for automation.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and monitoring a highly available hybrid cloud and network infrastructure
• Performing daily system and network monitoring
• Repairing and recovering from hardware and software failures
• Proactively identifying issues and proposing solutions
• Managing switch and firewall software updates
• Occasional out-of-hours and weekend work
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and eagerness to learn
• Producing and maintaining documentation

Technical understanding required:

• Designing and implementing network solutions to improve efficiency
• Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment (firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, WiFi access points)
• Experience with Juniper/Cisco switches and PaloAlto firewalls
• Supporting Windows services like Certificate Services, AD, DNS, NTP, GPOs, DHCP
• Procurement and management of network equipment and subcontractors
• Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching for security and efficiency
• Monitoring and troubleshooting network performance
• Firmware updates and fault investigation
• Reporting network status to stakeholders
• Azure cloud computing concepts and design
• Supporting M365 services
• Knowledge of Terraform and PowerShell
• Azure AD/Entra ID and Conditional Access
