Excellent opportunities have arisen for talented Network Fitters to join our client's friendly team on the Isle of Man, Guernsey, and Jersey. They are looking for Network Fitters to cover each of the islands. You will work as part of a team to maintain and improve the distribution network, carrying out tasks necessary to ensure quality of services provided within the gas distribution network.

The daily duties will include:
  1. Carry out work on the network as instructed by the Network Lead.
  2. Mains Replacement.
  3. New Service Installations.
  4. District Governor maintenance.
  5. Dial before you dig.
  6. Mains surveying.
  7. Service disconnections.
  8. General duties as the business may require in other functions.
  9. Support the Network Lead in the company’s response to PREs and confer with the Duty Personnel in the evaluation and management of Public Reported Emergencies.
  10. Perform tasks on the gas distribution network as directed by the Network Lead.
  11. Carry out routine and non-routine maintenance work on the gas distribution network and associated equipment as directed and scheduled by the Network Lead.
  12. Assist in providing technical expertise in hazard resolution.
  13. Assist in collecting and reporting operational data related to the gas distribution network.
  14. Work with the team to resolve hazards and investigate leakages on the gas distribution network.
  15. Provide full and accurate information and drawings of the distribution network for work carried out by your team, in conjunction with the Network Lead.
  16. Ensure tasks are completed with minimal disruption to customers and efficiently.
  17. Collaborate with contractors.
  18. On-site liaison with the public and external agencies.
  19. Participate in the emergency call-out rota, which occurs one week every four weeks throughout the year.
The successful candidate will have the following:
  1. Sound operational knowledge of gas distribution networks (Natural Gas and LPG).
  2. Experience dealing with gas emergencies and emergency classifications.
  3. Level 2 – City and Guilds Network Construction Operations CN02 Service layer.
  4. Full clean driving license.
  5. Team player with a positive attitude.
Desirable skill set (not limited to):
  1. 5 years’ experience in a gas or similar industry.
  2. Main layer certification.
  3. EUSR registration.
  4. N.R.S.W.A. Operative status.
  5. SCO trained.
  6. Governor maintenance.
