Are you a Cisco-certified Network Engineer looking to play a pivotal role in a high-impact, nationwide infrastructure transformation?

We’re hiring a Network Field Engineer to support a major public sector digital change programme across Scotland. This is a hands-on field engineering opportunity for someone passionate about enterprise network deployment, with expertise in Cisco technologies, and a proven ability to deliver SD-WAN and LAN solutions in complex environments.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Deploy and support a cutting-edge SD-WAN solution across 50+ locations in Scotland
  • Oversee the LAN hardware/software upgrade programme across the national estate
  • Lead the Wi‑Fi infrastructure upgrade - from controllers to AP coverage
  • Provide input into strategic network roadmaps, designs, and best practices
  • Travel to sites across Scotland (occasional weekend/night work)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, attend CAB meetings, and influence network architecture decisions
  • Ensure network policies align with PSN compliance and governance standards
Your Expertise
  • Strong Cisco experience - ideally with CCNA certification or higher
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers/switches - 2960X/XR, 4500, 9000 series, Nexus
  • Experience with site network infrastructure rollouts (LAN/Wi‑Fi/SD‑WAN)
  • Familiarity with F5 load balancers, VPNs, WLC, and Palo Alto firewalls
  • Experience in network monitoring tools and high-availability environments
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and in remote/field-based environments
Desirable
  • F5 Silverline/XC
  • Knowledge of PSN/secure government networks
  • Exposure to Data Centre migrations, VPN upgrades, and Unified Communications
