The Senior Technical Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure. This includes routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other related hardware. The Senior Engineer will also troubleshoot network issues and provide technical support to internal staff.

The role is home-based with requirement to travel (field)

What you'll do

• Customer Design:
  • Maintain an expert understanding of our technical product functionalities and communicate effectively with customers, tailoring messages for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support presales activities by collaborating with the Presales team, providing technical expertise on-site and remotely.
  • Test and validate new equipment, technologies, and services for interoperability before deployment.
  • Lead technical design and implementation of connectivity and TV infrastructure, including site surveys, configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• In-Life Operations:
  • Provide third-line support for complex issues, maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Oversee operational delivery of projects and solutions, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain edge network infrastructure for optimal performance.
  • Develop and update technical documentation and procedures.
  • Manage configuration changes effectively.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and stay aligned with their roadmaps.

What you'll bring:

• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Extensive experience with Juniper Mist, Ruckus, Cisco, or Cradlepoint WAN/LAN/WLAN products.
• Experience with wireless controllers, switches, access points, and routers.
• Network design experience including SD-WAN.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Professional certifications such as CWNP, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
• Expertise in 802.11 wireless technologies and wireless network design tools like Ekahau.
• Experience with APIs and scripting (Python, Bash) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of SMATV, IPTV, and Fibre distribution systems is advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
