Job description

Job Scope

As a Network Engineer, you will support the operation and maintenance of network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. This entry-level role with a keen interest in network technologies and a willingness to learn in a dynamic IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor network performance, including bandwidth usage and uptime, to proactively detect and resolve issues.
  • Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve network problems, escalating to relevant stakeholders or vendors when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and service requests through support ticketing systems, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on network infrastructure within the data centre to ensure optimal performance.
  • Plan and execute change requests, including firmware patching and configuration updates, with minimal service disruption.
  • Assist in the management and administration of Cisco routers, switches, and other networking devices.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to avoid service breaches.
  • Support change management and maintenance processes in collaboration with the team lead and cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide input to enhance operational efficiency and network reliability.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
  • Familiarity with Cisco network devices and command-line configuration is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills in a fast-paced technical environment.
