This position is part of the Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations (GTIO) - Restaurant Network Products (RNP) team, focused on delivering modern technology to support McDonald's operations. We provide foundational technology products and services, with a core focus on the restaurant network globally.

Job Description

The Network Engineer, reporting to the Sr. Technical Product Manager, will be responsible for monitoring network performance, resolving network issues, and implementing security measures to protect data and systems.

Ideal Candidate

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential. The candidate should be a subject matter expert in Juniper and Meraki network solutions, capable of designing and deploying innovative network solutions to enhance performance, security, and cost-effectiveness. Experience managing stakeholder expectations, resolving conflicts, and working in agile environments (Daily Scrums, Backlogs, Sprints, JIRA, Confluence) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage network infrastructure supporting restaurant operations, including POS systems and critical applications
• Manage network hardware such as routers, access points, switches, and firewalls
• Troubleshoot, test, implement, and maintain network configurations and traffic flows
• Collaborate with engineers to apply best practices and develop network solutions using latest technologies
• Conduct feasibility studies and proof of concepts for business needs
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and incorporate them into projects
• Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management
• Manage changes through review and approval processes
• Work effectively in an agile environment
• Provide urgent support outside regular hours as needed

Extensive Experience in

• Routing and switching technologies supporting large networks
• Meraki and Juniper L2 & 3 switch management
• Meraki and Juniper security appliances configuration
• Wireless solutions and access points management
• Using Meraki Dashboard and Juniper Mist Dashboard with configuration templates
• Networking protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VTP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, VPN design
• Palo Alto firewalls and Prisma cloud-based solutions

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus
