Network Engineer


Location: Basingstoke - 5 days a week - Office based

Your role


We are seeking a network engineer to join a multi-skilled agile team, including security, service, and management specialists, where teamwork is key.


Your responsibilities will include providing technical support during project deployment, such as installation, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and maintenance. You will advise project SMEs on preventive maintenance and configuration adjustments to enhance product performance and customer satisfaction.


  • Project Work: Technical implementation of medium to large infrastructures, meeting timescale estimates and managing risks. For larger projects, working within a technical framework to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Technical Capability: Working independently within a team, demonstrating in-depth product knowledge to implement best practices.
  • Service Level: Managing systems within SLA, proposing improvements, and implementing changes to meet service requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Taking ownership to diagnose and resolve issues, engaging third parties when necessary.
  • Professional Development: Staying updated with new products, tools, and techniques, and promoting their use for continuous improvement.

Your experience


  • Experience in independently implementing LAN networks and infrastructure patching according to design specifications and resolving issues.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and stay within scope and costs.
  • Providing timely workarounds or fixes for errors.
  • Expertise in at least two of the following technologies/disciplines and proficiency in at least two others:
  • Junos
  • Cisco IOS
  • IPS/IDS - Firepower, SRX, or FortiGate
  • Cisco ISE
  • NSX-T
  • Load balancing - F5 or Citrix
  • Cloud networking - AWS or Azure
  • Network automation: Ansible, Python, Visual Basic, Terraform

This role requires eligibility and willingness to undergo a high level of UK Security clearance.
