Job summary

Qualifications

• Background in information technology with security awareness.
• CCNA/CCNP certification and crypto experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center and ISE; familiarity with OSI model.
• Experience with network protocols (OSPF/BGP, TCP/IP, HTTP/S, HSRP/VRRP).
• Hands-on with Windows Server/AD, Linux, RHEL and VMWare/vSphere.
• Exposure to SDA principles and monitoring tools such as Nagios/PRTG/SolarWinds.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated support delivering DEx Network service in a high-profile environment.
• Own remediation of identified issues and risks from reports and intel.
• Support company initiatives as part of the DEx Networks team.
• Build relationships with partners and suppliers to optimise service levels.
• Engage with Security to develop reporting and risk analysis.
• Collaborate with Service Manager to meet network service criteria.
• Collaborate with Crypto Network Specialist on crypto management and support.

Network Engineer

Based in Stevenage

As the Network Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry.

Due to the nature of the work, you will be required to hold high level MOD security clearance.

You will be involved in:

• Provide dedicated support, ensuring the effective delivery of DEx Network service in this high-profile environment
• Own the remediation of any identified issues and risks, based on submitted reports and any other intelligence
• Assist with the support of the company initiatives as part of the DEx Networks team
• Build relationships with partners and external suppliers to optimise the service provided and play a substantial role in agreeing service levels
• Engage with the Security team to develop Security Reporting and risk analysis
• Collaborate with the Service Manager and DEx Network Service team to ensure Network service requirements meet the agreed criteria
• Collaborate with the DEx Networks Crypto Network Specialist regarding crypto management and support.

Your skillset & experience:

• A background in information technology
• Crypto experience and strong knowledge of crypto best practice
• Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center, ISE; Cisco best practice and CVDs
• Knowledge of the OSI model
• Strong understanding of network communication protocols including; HSRP/ VRRP, HTTP/S, OSPF/BGP, SSL, TCP/IP
• Experience with Windows Server/AD, Linux, RHEL, and VMWare/vSphere
• Exposure to SDA principles and deployments
• Authentication servicesy

• Proficient in monitoring technologies such as Nagios, PRTG, Solarwinds
