Description
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with a strong background in Wi-Fi, switching, routing, firewall technologies, and network automation principles. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of network protocols, network security, and automation frameworks to enhance network performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain secure and scalable network infrastructure solutions, including firewall configurations, VPN setup, and security protocols
- Implement and manage network access control (NAC) systems to ensure secure network access for all users and wireless/wired devices
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Wi-Fi networks, including access points, cloud-based controllers, and client devices
- Perform network performance monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting for wired and wireless environments
- Perform Business as Usual (BAU) support for Network and Automation operations
- Take ownership of the end-to-end network infrastructure, from data centre cabling to the network architecture
- Continually improve our monitoring systems to pre-empt and detect failure as well as provide alerting to the organisation
- Participate in on-call rota
- Provide concise and professional documentation
- Project delivery/management collaborating with internal and external vendors
- Implement and/or coordinate changes following approved change control policies.
- Travel might be required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of experience in network support/engineering roles
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Switching & Routing)
- Working in multi-vendor environment, incl. Arista, Fortinet, Meraki, Zscaler
- Experience in configuring/troubleshooting Wireless networks
- Strong understanding of network access control (NAC) principles and solutions (Cisco ISE, Arista AGNI, or similar)
- Proficiency in 802.1x authentication and related security protocols (EAP, RADIUS, etc.).
- Advanced troubleshooting experience in BGP/OSPF routing in multi VRF environment
- Experience in Python scripting and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jinja2, Netbox, Git, GitLab CI/CD)
- Experience with Prometheus, Alert Manager, Grafana
- Knowledge of firewall policies, IPSEC VPNs, SSL, and security best practices
- Data Centre / Colo experience
- Experience working with Linux
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or DevNet Associate are advantageous
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with Cloud Networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with cloud-based DDoS protection solutions
- Experience in containerized networking environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to SDN (Software Defined Networking) and SD-WAN solutions
- Experience with overlay networks (EVPN, VxLAN)
