Job Title: Network Engineer

Working Model: Hybrid

Location: Omagh


About the Role:
We are looking for a talented and proactive Network Engineer to join an innovative security team. This role involves designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure to ensure top performance, security, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of network protocols, security configurations, cloud networking, and automation.

Key Skills & Qualifications Essential:

  1. 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or administration.
  2. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS.
  3. Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar network hardware.
  4. Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, SNMP, etc.).
  5. Knowledge of firewall rules, VPNs, and security best practices.
  6. Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

Desirable:

  1. Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, AWS Certified Advanced Networking).
  2. Experience with SD-WAN, Zero Trust Networking, IPv6.
  3. Knowledge of VoIP, QoS, SIP, and network telephony solutions.
  4. Experience working in high-availability or enterprise environments.
  5. Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Python scripting).


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Network Design & Implementation: Design and deploy LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN solutions. Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers (Cisco, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, etc.). Optimize network architecture for high availability, redundancy, and scalability.
  2. Network Operations & Troubleshooting: Monitor and maintain network performance using NMS tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios). Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, outages, and security incidents. Conduct capacity planning and recommend hardware/software upgrades.
  3. Security & Compliance: Implement and manage network security policies, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS). Perform vulnerability assessments and network penetration testing. Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2, and other industry standards.
  4. Cloud & Virtualization Networking: Manage cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) including VPCs, peering, and hybrid connectivity. Implement SD-WAN and cloud-based firewall solutions. Work with DevOps and automation teams to integrate Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
