Network Engineer
Full time, Permanent, to commence as soon as possible
Salary: Point 14-16 of the Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff pay scale £30,119 - £31,954
We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our Central IT Services team, providing a reliable, robust and secure IT infrastructure supporting the learning and administrative needs of the Trust and the individual academies.
Joining an established team, you will play a key role in the development and configuration of the Active Directory and Google Workspace domains in the Trust, and the management and installation of the network infrastructure. You will also be an escalation point for other team members. Ongoing and future projects you will be working on include; implementation of Intune, migration of servers and services to cloud hosting, Hyper-V implementation, migration of Microsoft 365 domains to Google Workspace.
To succeed in the role, you will have:
Experience and knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory
Experience and knowledge of Azure, Entra, Intune
Experience using virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V)
Knowledge of networking (switch configuration, VLANs, Routing, DNS, DHCP)
Have a good knowledge of IT Security principles and practices;
Be able to demonstrate technical knowledge and problem-solving skills;

You will receive on the job training from our experienced team and the opportunity to do a Level 3 or higher level apprenticeship is available for the right candidate (depending on qualifications).
You will be required to work at all of the Trust's Oldham-based academies as required.
