The Role:

The Level 3 Network Engineering team is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the network infrastructure. As a team member, you will have a direct impact on network infrastructure design and feature enhancements to keep our systems running smoothly. Your focus will be on creating engineering solutions to operational problems, optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and eliminating work through automation. You will also monitor network performance, coordinate planned maintenance, adjust hardware components, and respond to connectivity issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop network architecture for a multi-tenant enterprise environment.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of architecture from inception to implementation and support.
  • Build reusable designs and systems that promote scale, reliability, security, and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol data center and backbone networks.
  • Define and develop optimized network monitoring systems.
  • Maintain consistency within the networking infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.
  • Participate in a regular on-call rotation.
  • Analyze complex business problems related to enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance to IT professionals.
  • Manage multiple customer needs, prioritize tasks, and manage daily workload.
  • Assist with internal projects and work with project managers on scope and timelines.
  • Interface with all levels of employees and support engagement requirements.
  • Write technical procedural documentation.

Skills & Experience:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in service provider or enterprise-level network engineering or design.
  • Deep understanding of network protocols (IP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF).
  • Knowledge of network hardware internals and application protocols.
  • Experience with network device firmware management and automation tools (Python, Perl, C++, Bash).
  • Understanding of authentication mechanisms including PKI.
  • Proven expertise with network hardware/software (Cisco, Juniper, HPE, Fortinet).
  • CCNP certification required; JNCIA/JNCIS preferred.
  • Strong understanding of wireless protocols and experience with Juniper Mist, Cisco WLC, Ruckus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Ability to coach team members and analyze complex systems.
