Overview

Enso Recruitment is working on behalf of a technology-led organisation to appoint a contract Network Engineer with a strong background in Fortinet or Cisco technologies. This is a great opportunity for a contractor looking to work across a range of enterprise projects, focusing on the design, deployment, and support of secure network solutions.

The position offers a hybrid working model, typically combining remote work with client site or office visits based on project requirements.

Contract Details

Day rate: £450–£600

Term: 1 year, with a likely extension to 2 years

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the deployment and support of network solutions.
• Provide advanced support and troubleshooting in complex enterprise environments.
• Contribute to the design and delivery of LAN, WAN, wireless, and security infrastructure.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure network solutions meet technical and business needs.
• Prepare technical documentation including Statements of Work, test plans, and network diagrams.
• Assist in ongoing improvement of service delivery processes and internal standards.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call support rota as required.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet products is essential.
• Solid understanding of network security concepts, including UTM/UTP, IPS/IDS, and SASE frameworks.
• Familiarity with Cisco technologies (e.g., ACI, SDA, DNAC) is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to document and diagram solutions using tools such as Visio and Excel.
• Experience working with hybrid environments (cloud, on-premise, and mixed models).
• Effective communicator able to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working with enterprise or public sector clients.
• Knowledge of scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE, CCNA, CCNP) are highly regarded.
