Network Development Manager - EMEASA Responsibilities
- Help develop and implement supply strategies, including joint build efforts with partner organizations.
- Manage a portfolio of fiber infrastructure suppliers across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and particularly, Latin and South America.
- Identify suppliers, negotiate commercial terms, and execute supplier contracts.
- Oversee contract performance, track and ensure supplier compliance, validate supplier budgeting, and renegotiate contract terms as needed.
- Keep track of price trends in the market to ensure best-in-class commercial terms for Meta.
- Manage and develop partner relationships across a diverse range of countries.
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of telecom wholesale market technological and commercial developments and represent Meta in conferences and trade shows.
- Generate clear and objective investment analysis and recommendations for investment approval.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop network requirements and acquisition strategies.
- Collaborate with finance and planning teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and long-range investment plans.
- Work closely with accounting and accounts payable for accurate processing of supplier invoices and compliance with accounting guidelines and contract terms.
- Manage cross-functional infrastructure projects in a matrix organization, covering a range of areas (DC/PoP connectivity, and backbone optical network).
- Develop and manage end-to-end project plans from concept stage through capacity turn-up, ensuring on-time delivery.
- Manage project operations, administration, and maintenance.
- Provide hands-on program management support during project life-cycle phases, including capacity turn-up and network operations.
- Manage program risk and changes, providing regular visibility to cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
- Ensure coordination across projects in global regions and drive internal process management and improvements, including process optimization across multiple teams and functions.
- Interface with Planning, Engineering, and Business/Project stakeholders for overall project requirements and scope.
- Identify internal workflow improvements to drive development improvements.
- Work well within a diverse cross-border team.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BSc/BEng or equivalent in technical or business related field and 5-7 years relevant industry experience in decision making roles.
- Good understanding and experience in subsea cables, fiber infrastructure, and carrier market players in Latin and South America.
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
- Capacity to travel up to 25% of the time abroad.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical knowledge of networking particularly in transport technologies.
- Experience delivering and managing subsea programs or products from inception to delivery.
- Proven experience in communication and interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team and with external partners.
- Experience in analyzing and presenting quantitative and qualitative comparative analysis of investment alternatives and recommendations.
- Experience in project management and reporting skills with the capacity to coordinate multiple, cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of participation in major deal execution and understanding of subsea cables and/or terrestrial fiber infrastructure.
