Job description

Streamline Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Network Development Manager to join a growing logistics business based out of London Gateway.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic transport professional who’s confident leading teams, building out national networks, and driving continuous improvements across fleet operations.

As Network Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in expanding and improving the company’s regional and national transport reach. You’ll be responsible for leading a high-performing team, optimising routes and fleet performance, and ensuring service standards and compliance are consistently met.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing the transport network across the UK to support business growth
  • Leading a team and aligning day-to-day operations with wider strategic goals
  • Improving overall fleet performance, including exploring low-emission and sustainable options
  • Reducing empty running and improving route efficiency through smart planning
  • Managing contracts and negotiating with key transport partners and suppliers
  • Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and internal operational procedures
  • Collaborating across departments to support wider logistics and service delivery
  • Supporting transport projects and introducing new ways of working

What we’re looking for:

  • A solid understanding of UK/EU transport legislation and fleet management
  • Experience managing both in-house and subcontracted vehicles
  • Confident working with stakeholders and suppliers at all levels
  • Good working knowledge of TMS and route planning tools
  • Commercially aware, with experience handling contract negotiations
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • CPC in Transport Management
  • Experience with pallet networks
  • Lean / continuous improvement qualifications (e.g. Six Sigma)
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification
  • Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics

Salary:£40,000–£60,000 per year doe
