Job description

Job Title: Network design specialist

Location: Cheese Lane, Bristol GBR

Type of employment: 12 months Contract

Responsibilities:

• Creates and implements technical solutions for a domain or cross domains / portfolios of work within a specific technology area autonomously, understanding how solutions impact systems internally and/or externally and assessing impact of change.
• Provides technical quality assurance over work of other engineers through matrix team structure.
• Provides sound technical expertise to consult on significant component(s) of a technical solution within a specific domain or cross domain.
• Identifies opportunities to improve standards of practice within a project, continuously enhancing ways of working.
• Delivers resolutions to problems that tend to be complex, cross-domain or of high impact to customers.
• The purpose of this role is to deliver the overall network design authority for a network platform and/or customer solution.
• Driving efficiency and scalability through the re-use of network designs and ongoing in-life operation of designs across the overall network platform and/or customer solution.
• Acting as a technical ambassador for the company and providing expert technical consulting to customers at a platform and/or overall solution level. The role decides on design scope and design of the overall network platform and/or customer solution, as well as estimating the time and type of resource needed to support the deliverables with increasing cost impact and time duration.
• Provide design authority for significant component(s) of the overall solution and/or platform.
