Job description

Overview

As Network Manager you will be responsible for the blood transfusion laboratories at UHCW, GEH, Warwick and their blood component storage satellite locations. You will be supported by the Senior Pathology Manager responsible for Blood Sciences, a site manager for each site, a Network Quality manager, an IT lead, a Training lead and a Performance lead.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership of the blood transfusion laboratories across all trust sites.
• Operational management of departmental resources, technical services, staff finances, equipment and space.
• Ensure UKAS and MHRA compliance and deliver a quality‑led, patient‑focused, efficient and safe service.
• Provide specialist advice on science and technical issues.
• Work closely with the Network Haematology Manager and Network Biochemistry Manager.
• Lead upcoming projects including the implementation of Swift Ortho analysers across the network and a LIMS upgrade.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered senior biomedical scientist with significant senior‑level blood transfusion experience.
• Operational management experience and excellent motivational and development skills.
• Must provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or GP.
