About the Role

Our confidential government client requires an experienced Network Architect to lead the design and delivery of strategic network solutions. This is a high-impact role within a complex, secure environment, where your architectural expertise will support security priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-level and low-level network designs (HLD/LLD) in line with project milestones

• Produce comprehensive artefacts including:

  • Site-specific network architectures

  • Passive infrastructure layouts (fibre, copper - vertical & horizontal)

  • Active equipment installation designs

  • Rack diagrams, patching schedules, and cabling plans

• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including:

  • Local IT teams

  • Other Government Departments (OGDs)

  • System owners and integrators

• Drive end-to-end system thinking including:

  • LAN/WAN design and implementation

  • WAN provisioning and circuit dependencies

  • Network security and encryption technologies (eg, cryptos)

  • Dependencies on EUDs, storage, and power systems (UPS)

• Work across the full system delivery life cycle:

  • Service Design, Transition, Acceptance, and into Live

  • Collaborate with Service Architects on Assurance and Gate Reviews

• Analyse technical requirements and develop fit-for-purpose solutions

• Conduct impact assessments and risk evaluations of architectural decisions

• Lead on technical governance, guidance, and assurance activities

• Act as the primary technical PoC for networking and associated infrastructure

• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive background in secure Network Architecture and Design

• Strong knowledge of government or military-grade secure environments

• Experience with:

  • Passive and active infrastructure planning

  • WAN/LAN technologies and provisioning

  • Encrypted communication solutions

• Familiarity with government service delivery life cycle and assurance processes

• Exceptional stakeholder management across multi-disciplinary teams

• Proven leadership in delivering technical outcomes under tight timelines
