When you join our Engineering Team at Telent, you'll be empowered to innovate and drive common solutions, working closely with technical experts who are proud of the impact their work makes. Come join a high-performing team doing complex and critical work. Help build and keep the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

As a Network and Security Engineer reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Operations, you'll play a pivotal role in our ongoing digital transformation. You'll help design, implement, and support the systems that power Telent's ICT estate - working on cutting-edge technologies in a role that blends strategy, problem-solving, and hands-on expertise.

This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be in our Warwick HQ 1-2 days per week, as well as ad-hoc travel on occasion.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead network design and architecture for Telent's Corporate Enterprise network - producing, reviewing, and maintaining technical documentation and network schematics.
  • Implement and support advanced network and security solutions using Cisco technologies including Software-Defined Access (SDA) and SD-WAN.
  • Strengthen our security posture through centralized authentication (ISE), Cisco Umbrella, and next-gen firewalls (FTD/ASA).
  • Monitor infrastructure health using Cisco tools like ThousandEyes and Catalyst Centre.
  • Manage third-party vendors and licensing contracts to keep infrastructure robust and compliant.
  • Collaborate in the delivery of cutting-edge security architectures and strategies.
  • Test and evaluate emerging technologies, helping Telent stay ahead of the curve.
  • Contribute to business continuity by participating in a 24/7 on-call support rota (one week per month).

Who You Are:

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who have experience in network security, routing, and switching. If you have (or are working towards) a CCNP certification and a passion for technology, we encourage you to apply.

Key Requirements:
  • CCNP Security or CCNP Enterprise Infrastructure (or working towards it)
  • Solid background in enterprise network security - think ISE, 802.1x, VPNs, and firewall management
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco wireless LAN and Software Defined technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate effectively during incidents
  • Knowledge of current IT trends and technologies
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to be part of a rotating on-call schedule
