Placements24 is recruiting a Network Administrator to manage and maintain the company’s IT network infrastructure in Randburg with a hybrid in-office/remote setup.

You will design, implement, and troubleshoot network systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability for daily operations and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in a Network Administrator role or similar.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
• Experience with Cisco/Juniper hardware and firewall/VPN config.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, APs).
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.

• Provide end-user network support and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established logistics company in Randburg , is looking for a skilled and reliable Network Administrator to manage and maintain their IT network infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the optimal performance, availability, and security of the company's network systems. You will be responsible for network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support, working closely with the IT team to support business operations. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

• Ensure network security by implementing and managing firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance problems.
• Manage IP addressing, DHCP, and DNS services.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configurations.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.
• Collaborate with IT staff to implement and maintain network infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
• Experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
• Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls and VPNs.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
• Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for hybrid team collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in Randburg .
