Description du poste

Leicester Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic, committed and suitably qualified Netball Coach to join our team on a self-employed basis during the Spring term.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced netball coach to work with our pupils, developing their technical ability, tactical understanding and overall performance, while creating a positive, inclusive and enjoyable sporting environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching a Netball squad and supporting pupils to reach their full potential. You will deliver high-quality coaching sessions that develop technique, confidence and performance, while encouraging pupils to enjoy their sport and develop a lifelong passion for netball.

You will regularly assess and monitor individual pupil progress, providing appropriate feedback and reporting progress to the Head of Netball. You will use your observations and assessments to inform future coaching and ensure that pupils are continually challenged and supported in their development.

An important part of the role will be maintaining a positive and well-disciplined environment during every coaching session. The successful candidate will promote the values of fair play, teamwork, healthy competition and respect for rules, officials, teammates and opposition, while demonstrating a positive attitude and acting as an excellent role model for our pupils.

You will be expected to keep up to date with developments within netball and ensure that current best practice is reflected in your coaching. You will also play an important role in ensuring that the School's Health & Safety and safeguarding policies are followed and that pupils understand their responsibilities in relation to safety during netball activities.

The role will also involve accompanying teams to and from fixtures, umpiring matches to a good standard and ensuring that visiting teams and supporters receive a warm welcome and appropriate hospitality. You will take responsibility for ensuring that team kit and equipment is well cared for and, in consultation with the Head of Netball, meets appropriate Health & Safety standards.

The successful candidate will hold an England Netball Level 1 or Level 2 coaching qualification and will have a proven track record of successful netball coaching. You will be able to umpire to a good standard and ideally have an England Netball officiating qualification or C Award umpiring qualification.

You will have excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills, together with the ability to build strong and professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents. You will be able to adapt your coaching to pupils of different abilities and demonstrate a genuine commitment to helping every pupil develop and achieve their potential.

Previous experience of coaching in a school or similar environment would be advantageous. A first aid qualification, or a willingness to undertake appropriate training, would also be desirable. A minibus driver qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is passionate about netball and committed to developing young people through sport. You will demonstrate positive values, attitudes and behaviour, understand the importance of safeguarding and be able to conduct yourself in an exemplary manner when working with children and young people.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced coach to contribute to the continued development and success of netball at Leicester Grammar School, while helping to inspire the next generation of players.

Closing date: Monday 2 November, 9:00am

Interviews will take place week commencing 9 November

The successful candidate will be subject to appropriate pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, verification of references, right to work checks and any other checks required for the role and in accordance with current legislation and statutory guidance.
