Job summary

Reed's School in Cobham, England invites applications for a Senior Netball Coach to lead the thriving netball program. You will coach first and second team squads, deliver high-quality training and match coaching, and help create a positive, ambitious sporting environment.

Reporting to the Director of Sport, you will plan progressive sessions, umpire first-team fixtures, develop players across ages, and mentor less experienced coaches while upholding safeguarding standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver progressive netball training sessions meeting team and individual needs.
• Coach school teams during fixtures and tournaments.
• Umpire fixtures at 1st team level.
• Develop players across age groups and abilities.
• Identify and reinvigorate players underperforming.
• Collaborate with Head of Netball to enhance coaching provision and develop junior coaches.
• Promote high standards of sportsmanship and safeguarding of children.
• Perform additional duties as required by the Director of Sport.
• Be a motivating role model for Reed’s netball players.

Job description

Reed's School runs a thriving and well-established netball programme of around 80 girls, training across two nights a week (Monday and Tuesday), with fixtures on Wednesdays. Numbers increase further in the Spring term as hockey players have the option to also play netball.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Senior Netball Coach to join this successful sports programme, working with talented student-athletes and to contribute to the continued success of our netball programme.

The successful candidate will have the ability and experience to coach at 1st or 2nd Team level, delivering high-quality training sessions and match coaching while fostering a positive, inclusive, and ambitious sporting environment.

This role will report to the Director of Sport and Head of Girls Sport.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and progressive netball training sessions, ensuring team, unit and individual player needs are met.
• Coach school teams during fixtures and tournaments.
• To umpire fixtures at 1st team level.
• Support the development of players across all age groups and abilities.
• Identify and reinvigorate players performing below their potential.
• Work collaboratively with the Head of Netball and other netball coaches to enhance the school's netball provision, including supporting and developing less experienced coaches.
• Promote outstanding standards of sportsmanship, commitment and teamwork, and promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
• Undertake such other comparable duties as the Director of Sport requires from time to time.
• To be an inspiring role model to all Reed’s netball players.
