Job summary

The Diocese of Leicester is seeking a Net Zero Carbon Programme Officer to support parishes across the diocese in reducing carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency in church buildings and halls. The role focuses on building sustainable working practices and enabling churches to be open for future generations.

You will develop relationships with Parochial Church Councils, collect and analyse data, report on progress, and contribute to setting annual targets within the Diocesan

Qualifications

• A relevant degree, equivalent qualifications or relevant experience.
• Practical experience and/or knowledge in managing buildings with a focus on sustainability.
• Understanding of and commitment to working with churches and halls to improve energy efficiency toward Net Zero Carbon.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive relationships with key diocesan stakeholders, especially Parochial Church Councils, to reduce emissions.
• Support NZC targets through data collection, analysis, reporting, and target setting.
• Deliver communications, training and education to progress toward Net Zero Carbon for church buildings.
