Job Overview

GroupM is looking to recruit a Business Partner to oversee Net Working Capital (‘NWC’) performance across the UK Group. The role will be London based, sit within the Finance Operations team and the individual will report to the GroupM UK Operations, Finance Director.

The primary objectives of the role will be to understand and report on NWC performance across GroupM UK as well as help drive improvement. This role is an exceptional opportunity to deliver tangible value working in a multi-layered group and re-invigorated business to support its future growth.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Establish and agree with stakeholders key NWC metrics to track and required reporting formats.
  2. Create (and maintain) a NWC model which is based on key customer and key supplier assumptions.
  3. Perform monthly review of NWC performance and prepare summary for Senior Management.
  4. Establish NWC improvement action plans and monitor progress against delivery.
  5. Lead review calls with agency teams, EMEA regional and WPP finance to review performance and track improvement actions.
  6. Identify areas where performance is deteriorating and/or has scope for improvement, understand why, and agree improvement actions.
  7. Where appropriate, work with Shared Service Centres to ensure NWC levers are managed effectively.
  8. Identify key clients impacting NWC and work with Agency teams to address.
  9. Develop a cash culture and increased NWC awareness across GroupM UK through training, communications, policy setting and sharing good practices.
  10. Integrate with other initiatives that may impact NWC such as finance systems, SSC roll out etc.

Skills & Experience Required

  1. 5 to 7 years’ experience of working capital improvement in a major organisation (FTSE250 or private) or consultancy business.
  2. Strong communication skills and ability to engage and influence a variety of people including senior management.
  3. Experience of presenting findings and analysis clearly in reports.
  4. Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PowerBI.
  5. Business partnering expertise.
  6. Organised with great attention to detail.
  7. Quick to learn and adaptable to changing work allocation and able to prioritise workload to meet challenging deadlines.
  8. Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills.
  9. Good understanding of business processes.
  10. Excellent skills finding common ground between teams and driving change forwards.

Desirable

  1. An excellent understanding of the products and services provided by GroupM, including the impact of how products and product development work towards the GroupM’s strategy.
  2. Experience working in the Media industry.
  3. Experience working with DDS / MediaOcean.
  4. Experience working with Cartesis / BFC.

In addition, candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  2. Experience of, or a sensitivity to, media best practices including media investment arrangements.
  3. To ideally have operated successfully in a matrix structure.

  6. Ability to concisely and clearly present information to financial and non-financial people.
