About the Role:

If you're discreet and professional with a caring attitude, then we would like to hear from you. Join our Non-Emergency Patient Transport Team (NEPT) as an Ambulance Driver/Care Assistant. You will support non-emergency patients by providing safe, first-class care during transportation between hospital/clinic appointments and their homes. You will also transport SEND children to and from schools with the same level of care.

Being able to remain calm under pressure is essential, as is willingness to undertake training to expand your knowledge of medical and mental health conditions. A flexible, adaptable approach is required, as each day will differ.

We are willing to fund training for the D1 category driving test for the right candidate. Proof of vaccinations is required as this is a Care Quality Commission regulated activity.

This role will be based at either Sandy Depot, Beamish Close, Sandy, SG19 1SD, or Thorn Turn Depot, Grendall Lane, Houghton Regis, LU5 6GJ, depending on service demands. The postholder may need to work at either location.

You must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English, and able to understand and follow policies and procedures. A comprehensive training package will be provided, along with benefits such as a Local Government Pension Scheme and 25 paid days of annual leave plus public holidays.
