Responsibilities- Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental, and divisional initiatives, policies, and procedures.
- Helps lead and implement the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and productivity/utilization review processes.

- Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief to ensure adequate medical coverage within the Division at all times.
- Attends Divisional meetings as required.
- Assists the Division Chief in recruiting new medical staff when appropriate.
- Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief.
- Oversees the clinical activities of junior medical staff and assumes responsibility for their care.
- Complies with all hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, patient care, surgical procedures, discharges, outpatient, and follow-up practices.
- Practices appropriate resource utilization.
- Leads ward rounds; regularly reassesses inpatients and outpatients following established best practices.
- Documents all relevant clinical information clearly and promptly, in accordance with procedures.
- Reviews investigation results regularly and adjusts treatment plans as needed.
- Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required.
Quality & Safety- Leads quality improvement initiatives within the Department.
- Supports a culture of regular audits and uses audit results to improve clinical practice.
- Supports reporting, investigation, and response to untoward incidents.
Education- Fosters a culture of learning, development, and continuous improvement.
- Promotes and supervises the instruction and training of junior medical staff.
- Facilitates essential training relevant to clinical staff in the specialty.
- Demonstrates commitment to Continued Medical Education (CME).
- Encourages participation in clinical research and publication.
- Keeps current with relevant literature, trends, and technologies in the industry.
Qualifications- Tier 1: Minimum of 2 years relevant experience as a consultant or equivalent post-board certification.
- Tier 2: Minimum of 8 years full-time employment as a Consultant or equivalent post-board certification (including fellowship training) in an internationally accredited institute.
For UAE Nationals:
Clinical Fellowship training following primary specialty board may substitute for experience as follows: each year of clinical fellowship counts as two years of clinical experience.
