Job summary
NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Registered Nurse with neonatal expertise to support the Neonatal Unit under the supervision of the Senior Charge Midwife.
You will deliver high quality, evidence-based, woman- and baby-centred care, develop care plans for ill and premature neonates, and participate in policy development, audits and risk management, while leading and supporting the nursing team.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
- Post graduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates leadership in safety and care.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards in neonatal care.
- Specialist knowledge and experience in relevant neonatal conditions and policies.
Responsibilities
- Planning and evaluating care for ill and premature neonates in intensive care, high dependency and specialist units.
- Advocate for women, neonates, and families.
- Provide health education for women, partners, and families.
- Set and maintain standards of care.
- Recognise deviations and initiate appropriate action.
- Assist in formulating policy and procedures.
- Participate in audit, research and risk management.
- Supervise and deploy staff in absence of the Charge Midwife/Nurse.
