We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 7 senior Radiographer to join our radiology department based in CT. There may be the opportunity to rotate in other modalities to maintain knowledge skills and training.

The CT service is over four sites, King George and Queens which provide acute and elective scanning and Barking Community Hospital and St George's wellbeing hub in hornchurch, which is elective only scanning in a purpose-built unit.

It is essential that you are a good communicator and good team player. You must be capable of working unassisted, within a team and taking the lead in organising the day to day running within the modality. You will be required to manage members of the team and ensure training and appraisals are completed.

You will form part of a team of staff in the Imaging Department responsible for the provision of a safe, efficient, high-quality service working in accordance with Imaging Department and Trust protocols.

Main duties of the job

To lead the technical/radiographer staff, and to further develop an efficient CT service for BHRUT.

The post-holder will participate in the effective day to day running of the CT service, standardising protocols, managing the patient bookings, and waiting list and managing radiographers and radiology support worker throughout all areas.

Ensuring CT service is maintained with training of staff to perform in accordance with Trusts policy including comprehensive competency assessments.

In conjunction with CT Superintendent Radiographer, promote continuous improvements in service delivery and quality within all areas of the CT service, using modern methods to improve productivity, leading in the delivery of service and workforce transformation, and re-design.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Part Time Salary 23hrs per week

£30,162pa to £34,035 Per annum inclusive of HCA

The post holder will be expected to maintain and develop high standards of patient care amongst all users of imaging services.

The successful candidate will support the Imaging Department team in achieving the departmental and Trust objectives and will supervise and advise junior staff.

You will be required to work flexibly – weekday/weekend and nights, and possibly participate in out of hour’s standby rota, as we are a 7-day working department.

  • Hold BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, College of Radiographers Diploma or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration

  • Previous experience of working at this level
  • Understanding of iodine dosing with IV contrast administration.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
