Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Swindon is leading the award-winning PERIPrem (Perinatal Excellence to Reduce Injury in Premature Birth) quality improvement project, recognized regionally and nationally.
If you wish to be part of this exciting Perinatal team, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Band 6 Neonatal Nurse.
We offer numerous professional development opportunities for Neonatal Nurses to enhance skills in leadership areas such as quality improvement, research, outreach, transitional care, family integrated care, BFI, palliative care/bereavement, education and training (including 4 NLS courses annually in Swindon), risk management, and governance.
Our unit is a local neonatal unit (LNU) within the South West ODN, handling approximately 5,000 deliveries annually, with around 10% born prematurely.
We are part of the Maternity and Neonatal services, fostering close multidisciplinary collaboration with midwifery and obstetric teams.

We seek enthusiastic, forward-thinking, compassionate, and caring Neonatal Nurses to join our innovative team. Band 6 sisters typically run the unit as supernumerary shift coordinators, leading the nursing team and ensuring that babies and their parents remain at the heart of our care. They uphold standards and serve as role models to maintain high-quality care across the multidisciplinary team.
This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A DBS check will be required to verify any criminal convictions.
