Job summary

SettleParadigm is seeking a Neighbourhood Partner to provide visible, accountable, demand-led services across neighbourhoods in Letchworth Garden City and beyond. You will work with residents to manage homes and tenancies, offering practical support, referrals and early intervention to drive improvements in living standards.

You will handle diverse caseloads, collaborate with housing, repairs, safeguarding and external partners, and respond to tenancy breaches while ensuring neighbourhood

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering one‑to‑one intervention work.
  • Knowledge of tenancy management and welfare benefits.
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations, including anti‑social behaviour, financial difficulties or domestic abuse.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical help, support and referrals to partner agencies for residents.
  • Monitor and drive improvements in home and neighbourhood standards.
  • Welcome new residents by conducting visits and responding to tenancy requests.
  • Investigate tenancy breaches and anti‑social behaviour, and prepare evidence for legal action.
  • Organise surgeries, drop‑ins, home visits and community events.
  • Prepare cases for legal action including notices and witness statements.

Salary: £39,635 plus excellent benefits
Hybrid working: Two days per week in the office, three days per week working from home
Contract: 12m FTC
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the role

As a Neighbourhood Partner, you will provide a visible, accountable and demand‑led service across our neighbourhoods. You will work directly with residents to help them manage their homes and tenancies, offering practical support, referrals and early intervention. You will build strong relationships, respond to tenancy‑related issues and help drive improvements in the quality of homes and neighbourhoods.

You will manage a varied caseload, working collaboratively with colleagues across housing, repairs, safeguarding and external partners to achieve positive outcomes for residents. The role includes responding to tenancy breaches, managing anti‑social behaviour cases, supporting vulnerable residents and ensuring neighbourhood standards remain high.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide practical help, support and referrals to partner agencies for residents needing assistance with managing their home or tenancy

  • Monitor and drive improvements in home and neighbourhood standards

  • Welcome new residents by conducting new tenant visits and respond to tenancy‑related requests from existing residents

  • Investigate allegations of tenancy breaches and anti‑social behaviour, offering interventions and preparing evidence for legal action

  • Organise and attend surgeries, drop‑ins, home visits, meetings and community events

  • Prepare cases for legal action including drafting notices and witness statements and presenting cases in court

  • Manage cases involving anti‑social behaviour, safeguarding concerns and vulnerable residents in line with policies and best practice

  • Manage property condition concerns in line with HHSRS requirements

  • Work closely with internal and external partners, making referrals and signposting where needed

  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policies and procedures and communicate these effectively

  • Assess and interpret resident data to ensure cases are managed sensitively and efficiently

  • Work collaboratively with housing teams on rent arrears and anti‑social behaviour prevention

  • Manage a diverse caseload and take ownership of delivering high‑quality resident services

  • Full clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work

Must haves:
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations, including those involving anti‑social behaviour, financial difficulty or domestic abuse

  • Confidence challenging areas for improvement and driving change

  • Ability to reduce complaints and increase resident satisfaction through ownership and problem solving

  • Ability to cope well under pressure and manage competing demands

  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Commitment to professional development through the Chartered Institute of Housing

  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour professionally
