Job summary

Woking Borough Council is seeking a Neighbourhood Officer to join the Grounds and Horticulture team. You will contribute to environmental improvements, work with partners and contractors, and provide professional leadership on grounds maintenance.

The role is permanent and full-time (37 hours per week) with a DBS check. Salary ranges from £29,633 to £40,988, with flexible benefits up to £2,071 and a vehicle allowance up to £2,683 per annum. Closing date 22 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in horticulture or grounds maintenance.
• Ability to work across a range of partners and stakeholders.
• Proficient IT skills including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to improving external environments and delivering environmental solutions.
• Provide professional and technical leadership to strengthen client-side monitoring of grounds and horticulture work.
• Work with contract partners, residents, schools and other council services to deliver solutions.
• Support community engagement and facilitate multi‑agency collaboration.
