Are you a proactive housing professional ready to manage 1,150 properties in the Vale of Glamorgan? Join Network Recruitment Wales – NRW People as a Neighbourhood Manager and oversee housing services in Penarth, Dinas Powys, Sully, and Palmerston (Barry) over a 15-week contract. Earn a competitive rate, make a community impact, and support tenants—all with the backing of a leading Welsh agency.
Why This Role?

  • Community Leadership: Manage housing services for 1,150 properties, including general needs and two sheltered complexes, ensuring tenants thrive.
  • Varied Workload: Enjoy a busy, diverse role with a minimum of 3 days on-site per week, plus office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  • Tenant Focus: Support tenants through allocations, tenancy management, and anti-social behaviour resolution, promoting a tenant-led service.
  • Welsh Pride: Contribute to a meaningful role in South Wales with an agency committed to local communities.
What You’ll Do:
  • Oversee housing management for 1,150 properties, managing transfers, mutual exchanges, and empty properties from notice to re-letting.
  • Conduct pre-allocation interviews, settling-in visits, and tenancy reviews, ensuring new tenants receive support to sustain tenancies.
  • Address anti-social behaviour proactively, using tools like mediation, injunctions, and possession proceedings when necessary.
  • Lead community engagement initiatives, manage neighbourhood budgets, and oversee environmental improvements and skills projects.
  • Collaborate with agencies (e.g., social services, tenancy support) to resolve issues, ensuring properties are let within performance targets.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and tenancy management skills, with experience in housing or community engagement.
  • Qualities: Proactive, empathetic, and able to handle a busy workload while prioritizing tenant needs.
  • Experience: Proven experience in housing management, ideally with general needs and sheltered housing; familiarity with anti-social behaviour processes.
  • Requirements: Ability to work on-site at least 3 days/week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the office); ability to travel across Penarth, Dinas Powys, Sully, and Barry; eligibility to work in the UK. No DBS required.
  • Bonus Points: Experience with court proceedings or decanting tenants; Welsh language skills (or willingness to learn basic greetings).
