Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an experienced Neighbourhood Housing Officer in Liverpool on a temp to perm basis after a minimum of 12 weeks, paying up to £23 per hour. This is a hybrid role with mileage reimbursement.

The successful candidate will be a key contact for customers and colleagues in your area, and will be responsible for delivering a range of housing & tenancy management services across a designated patch, including managing your own caseload of low/medium level ASB/tenancy breaches. You will require a driving licence with access to your own vehicle and valid business insurance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out a range of visits including viewings, new tenancy visits and reviews, tenancy audits, exchange inspections and attending evictions
  • Dealing with abandonments, relationship breakdowns, assignments, unauthorised occupations including subletting, tenancy fraud and failures to allow access
  • Managing your own caseload of ASB & tenancy breach cases including hate crime, domestic violence and safeguarding
  • Identifying customers at risk of tenancy failure, undertaking assessment of needs and implementing positive interventions & signposting to external services to support tenancy sustainment
  • Represent the group at meetings where appropriate and establish strong working relationships with key external partners and stakeholders
  • Prepare and serve notices for breaches of tenancy conditions
  • Respond to enquiries and complaints from customers and local MPs within agreed timescales

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience delivering a housing & tenancy management service with a knowledge & understanding of housing legislation and sector best practice
  • Experience of managing nuisance and ASB cases
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to manage professional relationships with tenants including challenging noncompliance and low to medium support needs
  • Driving licence with access to own vehicle
