Job summary

Mane Contract Services is recruiting for an experienced NEC Supervisor to join a major infrastructure project in Norwich on a 12-month contract. The role is site-based, hands-on, delivering NEC4 ECC requirements on site.

You will monitor construction activities, inspect works, witness testing, manage defects, and maintain accurate site records while coordinating with the Project Manager and wider project team. Start date October 2026; rate £55 per hour Inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an NEC Supervisor on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC4 ECC and contract requirements.
• Experience conducting site inspections and witnessing testing.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and ITPs.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the duties of NEC4 ECC Supervisor.
• Carry out regular site inspections and monitor construction quality.
• Inspect works against Works Information/Scope, specs and ITPs.
• Witness key hold points, material approvals and site testing.
• Identify, notify and monitor defect corrections.
• Verify remedial works meet specs and standards.
• Maintain detailed site diaries and photographic records.
• Monitor health, safety and environmental controls on site.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Support validation of as-built information and handover documentation.
• Ensure quality records and O&M information are complete and traceable.
• Use digital inspection or issue-tracking systems.
• Produce clear and accurate reports and inspection records.

Working Arrangement: Fully site based

We are currently recruiting for an experienced NEC Supervisor to join a major infrastructure project in Norwich on a 12-month contract.

This is a hands‑on, site‑based position where you will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Supervisor under the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC), ensuring works are delivered in accordance with the contract, specifications, drawings and approved Inspection & Test Plans.

The Role

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Contractor and wider project team to monitor construction activities, inspect works, identify and manage defects, witness testing and maintain accurate site records.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake the duties of NEC4 ECC Supervisor.

• Carry out regular site inspections and monitor construction quality.

• Inspect works against the Works Information/Scope, specifications and ITPs.

• Witness key hold points, material approvals and site testing.

• Identify, notify and monitor the correction of defects.

• Verify remedial works comply with the required specifications and standards.

• Maintain detailed site diaries and photographic records.

• Monitor health, safety and environmental controls on site.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• Previous experience working as an NEC Supervisor.

• Strong working knowledge of NEC4 ECC.

• Experience conducting construction inspections and witnessing testing.

• A technical background in civil, building, MEP, systems or a related discipline.

• The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and ITPs.

• Experience identifying and managing defects/non-conformances.

• Strong site-based construction experience.

• Good report-writing and communication skills.

• Experience using digital inspection or issue-tracking systems.

Desirable

• NEC4 ECC Supervisor accreditation.

• Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).

• Knowledge of the Specification for Highway Works (SHW).

• Previous experience on major infrastructure or highways projects.
