Sector: Defence/Infrastructure / Energy / Utilities / Major Projects

Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Overview:

We are seeking experienced Project Managers at all levels to support the delivery of critical infrastructure programmes across the Defence, Energy and wider Infrastructure sectors. These roles involve working on nationally significant projects that contribute to energy transition, infrastructure modernisation, and the continued development of complex, secure environments.

Whether you are an established Senior PM or progressing into a leadership role, this is an opportunity to be involved in high-value, multi-disciplinary schemes where your skills and expertise will have real impact.

The Role:

You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of projects, typically valued between £1m to £10m+, and often part of larger national programmes. Depending on scale and complexity, you may lead independently or as part of a wider cross-functional team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with time, cost, quality and sustainability objectives.
  • Develop and manage project execution strategies, schedules, budgets, and reporting frameworks in line with client and stakeholder requirements.
  • Act as the principal point of contact for clients, consultants and contractors, maintaining effective governance and communication.
  • Manage and administer NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4), ensuring compliance and driving value through proactive risk and change management.
  • Monitor performance, apply project controls, and implement mitigation strategies as required.
  • Ensure projects are delivered with a strong focus on health, safety and environmental compliance, alongside supporting sustainability and Net Zero goals.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in project delivery within sectors such as Defence, Energy, Utilities, or Transportation.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of NEC contracts is essential; NEC accreditation is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders in complex, regulated environments.
  • Sound understanding of project controls, risk management, and reporting protocols.
  • Experience delivering projects in the £1m–£25m+ range.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a construction, engineering or project management discipline.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with APM, RICS, ICE or similar is desirable.

Security Clearance (Defence Projects Only)

Due to the nature of certain projects, candidates must be sole UK nationals and capable of obtaining Security Clearance (SC). A valid British passport is required.

Why Apply?

These roles offer the opportunity to work on high-profile, technically demanding projects within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. You’ll contribute to key national infrastructure programmes and be supported in your continued professional development, all while working in a culture that values accountability, integrity, and delivery excellence.
