Job summary

Arabelle Solutions seeks an NDT & Testing Supervisor to lead testing across a manufacturing environment, ensuring product integrity and regulatory compliance. You will mentor NDT personnel, develop procedures, and coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams.

The role requires UK Defence clearance capability (or the ability to obtain SC level clearance), British citizenship, and residency in the UK for at least 5 years.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • NDT/testing experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Certified in relevant NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT, VT) – Level II or III preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the NDT and testing teams, including training and performance management.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain testing procedures and standards per regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring for NDT personnel at all levels.
  • Oversee inspection and testing of materials, components, and finished products.
  • Select NDT methods, establish techniques, and help set acceptance criteria where needed.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/ASME/ASTM/EN standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production and quality to resolve issues.
  • Manage equipment calibration, maintenance, and procurement.
  • Conduct audits and support external inspections and certifications.
  • Analyze testing data and generate management/customer reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement and CAPEX initiatives for testing processes.
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance in testing activities.

Job description

The NDT & Testing Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing all non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection activities within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures product integrity, compliance with industry standards, and continuous improvement of testing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the NDT and testing teams, including training, performance management, and development.

  • Extensive experience in NDT/testing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Certified in relevant NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT, VT) – Level II or III preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency with testing equipment and inspection technologies.

This work is undertaken with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance, be a British Citizen and working or have residency in the UK for a minimum of 5 years. Applicants not cleared will not be accepted into the business until this clearance is provided. Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority.
