A leading inspection and testing company is looking for an NDT Technician (UT - Level 2) for their Wirral site. The role involves onshore and offshore work, conducting Ultrasonic and Eddy Current tests, and requires experience in corrosion mapping and flexible travel. Overview

Role: NDT Technician (UT- Level 2)
Location: Wirral site, onshore and offshore work
Salary: £(phone number removed) plus £120 per day onshore, £175 per day offshore

Russell Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for two NDT Engineers to join a market leader in inspecting and testing for one of our clients on the Wirral. The roles have come about due to growth. One position will specialise in UT testing (Level 2) and the other is more multi-disciplined (UT, Phased Array & Eddy Current) but requires SC clearance due to high confidential projects.

The role will require you to be on site Monday-Friday, but you will be reactive to projects which will involve onshore/UK and offshore work, which may require you to be away from home for extended periods depending on project length.

Responsibilities
  • Execute corrosion mapping and welding inspection
  • Conduct Ultrasonic and Eddy Current testing methods on Marine, offshore structures and plant equipment
  • Create detailed technical reports for corrosion mapping and for customers; reports must be of high quality for the customers
  • Assist in equipment checks, calibrations and competency tasks
  • Perform tasks with due diligence in line with quality management systems, industry standards and client specifications
  • Identify any potential issues or non-conformances
  • Present technical demonstrations to new and key clients; project work and informative technical pieces
The Person
  • Previous experience in an NDT position; looking for PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing in castings, forgings and welds
  • Experience of Eddy Current Testing
  • Must be very flexible to travel (UK and Internationally) and be reactive to short notice trips
  • Excellent understanding of advanced NDT methods
  • Experience in corrosion mapping surveys
  • Experience within the Marine, Offshore, Oil & Gas or energy industries
  • Experience of interpreting schematics
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Highly motivated
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
