A leading engineering firm in Scotland is seeking an experienced NDT Technician to support quality control in manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess PCN Level 2 certification in manual ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, and liquid penetrant inspection. Emphasis on maintaining safety standards and adherence to health and safety regulations is crucial. Practical experience in a fabrication environment is essential.
NDT Technician competent in manual ultrasonic testing (MUT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and liquid penetrant inspection (LPI) of welds and components. Certification in MUT of tees, nodes and nozzles is advantageous. It is preferred, but not essential that the successful applicant is qualified in MUT of forgings and visual testing (VT) of welds. The role involves working as part of the quality control team to support fabrication, machining and welding operations in manufacturing and remanufacturing of standard connector products and capital drilling equipment. An understanding of HSE and QA requirements within an engineering organisation is required.
Practical experience in a fast-paced engineering/fabrication environment with working knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality procedures is essential. Experience working with relevant industry codes and standards such as ASME, Section V and VIII; API 1104 and Spec 16A or BS EN ISO 17640. Experience of using flexible or rigid MPI coils is advantageous.
Mandatory: Qualified PCN Level 2 (or ISO 9712) in MUT (3.1, 3.2), MPI and LPI.
Advantageous: MUT of forgings, tees, nodes and nozzles
VT: welds (PCN)
Hardness Inspection: King Brinell
Basic understanding of dimensional inspection
Copies of current certificates are required prior to an offer of employment.
