Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in PAUT and UT contact.
  • Knowledge of various NDT disciplines preferred.
  • Experience testing carbon composites & novel materials is advantageous.

Job description

As a PAUT Level 3 Technician, you will be based at our NDT site in Derby. You will provide technical support to the Site Services Department and will run and develop Phased Array UT and Contact UT for the business. The role involves operating from our facility in Derby, UK, and traveling to support site services when required. You will liaise with clients on technical issues and develop NDT procedures to meet their needs.

Required skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge of client company activities and industry standards
  • Experience in the practical implementation of ISO17025/9001 related to site services inspection
  • Knowledge and experience of testing and assurance processes in various NDT disciplines
  • Full current driving licence
  • Hold Level 2 PCN qualifications in PAUT and UT contact for 4+ years
  • Experience with other disciplines such as UTC, UTF, UTW, MT, PT is advantageous
  • Experience testing carbon composites & novel materials is preferred

  • Contract review of paperwork
  • Raising technical documentation
  • Training and checking staff and performing functional checks
  • Ensuring calibration checks are carried out
  • Ordering/logging consumables and updating databases
