Job Description:

Job Summary: We are seeking a Level 2 NDT Technician specialized in Ultrasonic Testing to join our aerospace client in Southampton on a contract basis (Inside IR35).

Key Skills Required: NDT, Ultrasonic Testing, UT

Role Summary: As part of the composite value stream, you will support the delivery of high-quality composite components for aircraft, involving inspection, analysis, and clearance of complex components using Ultrasonic NDT methods.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Promoting a safe workplace environment in compliance with HSE policies.
  • Accurate clocking and booking of work hours and job costings.
  • Maintaining clean and organized workstations.
  • Ensuring quality standards and minimizing wastage.
  • Supporting cost reduction initiatives.
  • Keeping knowledge and training up to date, including maintaining AO stamps.
  • Participating in team meetings, sharing knowledge, coaching, and mentoring trainees.
  • Performing ultrasonic testing, preparing procedures, analyzing and clearing composite components, and supporting technical audits.
  • Interpreting process specifications and standards.
  • Supporting R&D, NPI, and improvement activities as a Level 2 NDT Engineer.

Physical Activity Note: This role involves physical activities; candidates must be capable of performing such activities with appropriate assistance if needed.

Requirements:

  • Qualified in BS EN4179 NDT Level UT by a UK NANTDB approved organization with proven Level 2 experience.
  • HNC in Engineering or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Aerospace experience with Level 2 Ultrasonic NDT.
  • Familiarity with other NDT methods and supporting audits.
  • Knowledge of aviation product technology.
  • Understanding of NADCAP accreditation process.

The candidate must undergo baseline security clearance and provide signed confirmation of training logs.
