Job summary

An engineering company based in Portsmouth is seeking an NDT Technician/Inspector to maintain NDT processes and perform inspections. The ideal candidate will have qualifications in BS EN 4179 / PCN and experience in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include developing techniques, producing reports, and ensuring quality standards are met. This position offers a structured working schedule from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Previous qualifications in BS EN 4179 / PCN or experience in NDT inspection methods required.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing business.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily NDT processes and systems.
  • Undertake NDT inspection work using PT and MT processes.
  • Develop NDT techniques that meet customer requirements.
  • Produce NDT inspection reports.
  • Ensure quality of all work meets required standards.
  • Maintain accurate technical records of NDT inspections.

Job Description

Our engineering clients, based in Portsmouth, have an exciting opportunity for an NDT Technician/Inspector to join their growing team.

The NDT Technician has overall responsibility and authority for:

  1. Maintaining the daily NDT processes and systems in accordance with inhouse procedures and the requirements of the responsible Level 3.
  2. Undertaking NDT inspection work using PT and MT processes and interpreting and evaluating inspection results against established customer specifications, procedures, and codes.
  3. Developing NDT techniques that meet customer requirements and adhere to relevant standards prior to submitting them for approval to the responsible Level 3.
  4. Producing NDT inspection reports.
  5. Ensuring that the quality of all work produced meets the required standards.
  6. Having a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  7. Maintaining accurate technical records of NDT inspections and related activities, including references to the technical data used.

Required Experience:

  • Previous qualifications in BS EN 4179 / PCN or experience in NDT inspection methods are required.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing business.

Working hours: 7.30 am to 4.00 pm Mon – Thurs and 7.30 am to 12.30 pm Friday.
