NDT Technician

Based in: Derbyshire

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Ganymede Solutions are partnering with a large, well-recognised specialist engineering company who have been in operation since 1994. On behalf of the client, Ganymede are seeking to hire an NDT Technician to join their team in Derbyshire.

About Ganymede Solutions:
Ganymede Solutions are a stock market recognised recruitment agency, specialising in the transportation, manufacturing, infrastructure, construction and engineering sectors on both permanent and contract basis.

The Role:

As an NDT Technician, your key duties will be to carry out Non-Destructive Tests on engineering parts and components using non-destructive techniques in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.

Your responsibilities include:
  1. Traveling to work or clients' locations
  2. Setting up and calibrating NDT equipment
  3. Carrying out Non-Destructive Tests on engineering parts & components using non-destructive techniques in accordance with relevant standards and procedures
  4. Interpreting and evaluating test results in line with given acceptance standards
  5. Producing clear and concise test reports
  6. Displaying a high level of integrity and professionalism
  7. Maintaining NDT equipment
  8. Assisting the NDT Lead with basic administrative duties when required

You will be working during the day typically, on earlies, middles and late shifts, doing 37 hours per week (not including breaks). Shifts can last from 8 - 12 hours, so we are looking for someone who can be flexible to accommodate this.

  1. Ability to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
  2. Previous NDT experience (+3 years minimum)
  3. PCN (Level II) Qualifications in UT, MP & VT
  4. High attention to detail
  5. Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  6. Willing to travel and work away from home when required
  7. Competent in the full suite of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  8. Good interpersonal communication skills
  9. Willingness to gain other NDT qualifications if required by the company
