Technical Placements is seeking an experienced NDT Technician for a permanent position in South Leicester. The role focuses on Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), visual and dimensional inspection of precision components within the aerospace and power generation industries.

The candidate will ensure compliance with customer and quality standards and support ongoing inspection activities. The successful applicant will hold Level 1 or Level 2 FPI certification, have prior NDT experience in

• NDT experience in aerospace or precision engineering.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret inspections.
• Experience with tight tolerance components and inspection methods.
• FPI Level 1/2 certification is required or advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), visual and dimensional inspection on aerospace/industrial components.
• Perform first-off inspections and ensure conformance to drawings and specifications.
• Use conventional inspection equipment and CMM tools for inspection tasks.
• Complete inspection documentation and batch records; raise non-conformances where needed.
• Maintain FPI Level 1/2 accreditation and support airflow inspection activities.
• Work to AS9100 and company quality procedures.

The Role

Working within the Inspection department, you'll be responsible for carrying outFluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), visual inspection, and dimensional inspectionon precision aerospace and industrial components, ensuring all products meet strict customer and quality standards.

Your duties will include:

• Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI)
• Visual and dimensional inspection
• First-off inspections
• Conventional and CMM inspection
• Receipt inspection of returned subcontract parts
• Reading engineering drawings and specifications
• Completing inspection documentation and batch records
• Raising non-conformance reports where required
• Maintaining FPI Level 1 / 2 accreditation
• Supporting airflow inspection activities
• Working to AS9100 and company quality procedures

About You

To be successful, you'll have:

• Level 1 or Level 2 FPI qualification
• Previous NDT experience, ideally within aerospace or precision engineering
• Experience inspecting tight tolerance components
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Experience using conventional inspection equipment
• CMM inspection experience (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and to quality standards

Working Hours

37 hours per week

Rotating three-shift pattern:

Morning

• Monday-Thursday: 05:4513:45
• Friday: 05:4510:45

Afternoon

• Monday-Thursday: 13:4521:45
• Friday: 10:4515:45

Night

• Monday-Thursday: 21:4505:45
• Friday: 15:4520:45

No weekend working.
