Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a qualified technician to perform non-destructive examinations using advanced radiography techniques. In this role, you will be responsible for validating inspection processes, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Qualifications

You need to be qualified to EN4179 / NAS410 Level 2 (castings experience preferable but not essential). If you have experience working in radiography, DPI, or FPI, your skills may be transferrable.

Role:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, those below:

  1. Routine control checks to validate the inspection process and verify equipment calibrations.
  2. Keeping computerized inspection records and archiving paper records.
  3. Evaluate the results and make accept/reject decisions based on customer acceptance criteria.
  4. Interpret specifications and assist in the production of NDT techniques for Level III approval.
  5. Assist in audits and ensure continued compliance with the company's NDT accreditation, e.g., NADCAP and UKAS.
  6. Perform non-destructive examination of castings by radiography using X-rays to reveal internal discontinuities.
  7. Operate computerized radiography systems utilizing Phosphor Imaging Plates.
  8. Load and unload film cassettes, process films, and check radiographs against samples to ensure correct setup.
  9. Carry out control checks, monitor processors, and verify equipment calibrations.
  10. Restock darkroom cupboards and replenish processing solutions.
  11. View and interpret radiographs produced both in-house and externally by subcontractors, and evaluate results in respect to customer acceptance.
