Job summary

Manpower UK invites experienced NDT Inspectors for the Rosyth site on a 12-month, full-time temporary contract. You will perform non-destructive testing across MT, PT and UT methods, inspect welds and components, and generate accurate inspection reports while ensuring compliance with project requirements.

Ideal candidates hold PCN Level 2 MT and PT, have worked in heavy engineering or marine environments, and can obtain site authorisations.

Qualifications

• PCN MT Level 2.
• PCN PT Level 2.
• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent practical background.
• Ability to obtain site authorisations for access.
• Additional PCN RT or VT certifications are a plus.
• Experience in naval/marine/defence or nuclear sectors is preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9712 and BS EN standards.
• Confined space or height work certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform MT/PT/UT inspections across complex projects.
• Interpret inspection results against engineering specifications and standards.

• Collaborate with QA, welding and engineering teams to ensure compliance.

Rates: Umbrella; £39 ph (MT/PT) and £52 ph (MT/PT/UT) OR

Duration: 12 months Contract

Contract: Full time temporary contract

Daily Allowance: £45 per day, taxable. For candidates who reside over 35 miles from site in Rosyth.

We have new opportunities for experienced NDT Inspector with our global engineering partner, based Rosyth site.

The purpose of the role is to help ensure structural quality in one of the UK's most complex engineering environments.

The Role

• As an NDT Inspector, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the integrity, safety and compliance of critical engineering structures, components and systems that support major marine and defence programmes. Working within a highly regulated environment, you'll conduct inspections and provide expert assessment of welds, materials and fabricated components to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained.Carry out non-destructive testing activities across a range of complex projects, supporting production, maintenance and refit operations throughout Devonport Royal Dockyard.
• Conduct Non-Destructive Testing inspections using Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) methods.
• Interpret and evaluate inspection results against relevant engineering specifications, codes and quality standards.
• Produce accurate inspection reports and certification documentation.
• Collaborate closely with quality, welding, fabrication and engineering teams to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Identify defects, anomalies and areas of non-conformance, providing technical recommendations and support.
• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure testing activities are completed in accordance with approved procedures and safety requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of quality assurance across the dockyard.
• Demonstrable experience carrying out Non-Destructive Testing inspections within heavy engineering, marine, defence, manufacturing or nuclear environments.
• Strong knowledge of Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) methods and techniques.
• Experience inspecting welded fabrications, structures, pipework and engineering components.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, welding procedures and technical specifications.
• Experience producing inspection reports and maintaining quality records.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and compliance within a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications for the NDT Inspector

• PCN Level 2 qualification in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
• PCN Level 2 qualification in Penetrant Testing (PT).
• Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent practical engineering background.
• Ability to obtain and maintain site-specific authorisations required to access relevant operational areas.
• Additional PCN qualifications in Radiography Testing (RT) or Visual Inspection (VT).
• Experience working within naval, marine, defence or nuclear sectors.
• Knowledge of ISO 9712, BS EN standards and quality management systems.
• Confined space or working at height certifications.
