Job summary

Cadillac Formula 1 Team at Silverstone is seeking a skilled NDT Inspector to uphold the integrity of materials and assemblies through UT, DPI, ET and MPI.

You will inspect parts at various stages, interpret drawings, prepare inspection reports, calibrate equipment and support root-cause analysis. PCN/EN4179 Level 2 in UT and DPI is required; ET/MPI Level 2 advantageous. A strong teamwork and safety focus is essential.

Qualifications

  • PCN/EN4179 Level 2 certification in UT and DPI is required.
  • NDT experience in maintenance/manufacturing/MRO environments preferred, automotive or aerospace exposure.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive testing on materials and components at various stages of manufacture and service.
  • Evaluate test results and prepare detailed inspection reports noting defects or irregularities.
  • Ensure compliance with design standards, specifications and procedures.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering and production teams to maintain product integrity and resolve quality issues.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Verify calibration and performance of NDT equipment and contribute to procedure development.
  • Train and mentor junior inspectors in NDT processes and best practices.

The role involves inspecting parts and assemblies through various stages of manufacture and service using various NDT methods and techniques such as ultrasonic testing (UT), eddy current (ET), magnetic particle testing (MPI), Dye Penetrant Testing (DPI). You will play a key role in identifying defects ensuring compliance with design standards while supporting quality control processes. Your expertise will ensure that all products meet quality and safety standards, contributing to the overall excellence of our operations. This vital role requires critical thinking and an eye for detail.- Conduct non-destructive testing to various materials and components- Evaluate test results and prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting any defects or irregularities- Ensure compliance with design standards, specifications and procedures- Collaborate with design, engineering and production teams to maintain product integrity and resolve any quality-related issues- Assist in the investigation and analysis of quality issues, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions- Verify the calibration of NDT equipment, ensuring compliance with internal quality procedures- Carry out equipment performance and control checks and assist in developing and improving NDT procedures and inspection criteria- Participate in training and mentoring of junior inspectors in NDT processes and best practices- Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, and corrective actions takenRequirementsWhat we need from you?- Qualified to PCN or EN4179 level 2 certification in UT and DPI minimum.
