Job summary

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5/6 nurse to join the Neurodevelopmental team in supporting young people on ADHD medication. The post involves multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatry, psychology, OT and registered nurses to conduct ADHD and Autism assessments and review medications.

The role supports non-medical prescribers with medication reviews and case management for young people, within a busy, safeguarding-aware service based in East Sussex.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current registration in mental health/LD/adult.
• Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007).
• Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005) including FACE documentation, DOLS and Best Interest decisions.
• Child and Adult safeguarding procedures.
• Change management to organise and prioritise workload.
• Demonstrate evidence-based care and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of young people taking ADHD medication.
• Record physical health observations (height, weight, BP, pulse) in the electronic patient record.
• Produce clinical outcome letters to GPs and other services.
• Complete risk assessments and collaboratively develop care plans with young people.
• Respond to clinical enquiries and support the team.
• Liaise with other agencies and follow East Sussex safeguarding processes.

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic band 5/6 nurse to join our Neurodevelopmental team supporting young people who take ADHD medication.

We are open to Redeployment for this role.

You would be working with a team of specialists including psychiatry, psychology, OT and registered nurses supporting the assessments of ADHD and Autism and managing young people who take ADHD medication.

We work as a multidisciplinary team and we are looking for band 5/6 nurse who can support our non medical prescribers in offering medication reviews for young people taking ADHD medication.

Main duties of the job

• To manage a case load of young people taking ADHD medication


• To record physical health observations - height, weight, blood pressure and pulse. recording this accurately in the electronic patient record.


• Documenting accurately and communicating through clinical outcome letters to primary care GP's and other services.


• To be able to complete risk assessments and collaboratively develop plans of care with young people


• Supporting the team in the responding to clinical enquiries received

Job responsibilities

• To monitor young people on ADHD medication and show understanding and awareness of medication side effects.


• Complete detailed clinical documentation and escalated concerns to senior staff members when required


• Provide clinical letters to GP's recording accurately medication doses and physical health observations


• To show clear documentation on the electronic patient record and be able to complete risk assessments and develop collaboratively care plans with young people using the service.


• To respond to clinical enquiries to the team


• To liaise with other agencies and show awareness of East Sussex child protection processes


• To provide screening of new referrals to the service.

Qualifications

Essential

• Registered Nurse with current registration [mental health/LD/Adult], appropriate to the job role.


• Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007).


• Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005), to include practical knowledge of FACE documentation, DOLS and Best Interest decisions.


• Child and Adult safe guarding procedures


• Change management at organising and prioritising their workload


• Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence based knowledge
