  • Liaise with SALUS regarding space allocation for infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with DIO to develop infrastructure designs.
  • Track capabilities from introduction to retirement to meet operational requirements.
  • Brief SADC on project updates to inform HMNB Clyde and senior stakeholders.

Job description

Weapons Project Manager 2 (WPM2) is part of the Nuclear Enterprise Portfolio team within MAIC, which oversees several future capabilities and projects for the Coulport site. WPM2 is responsible for the development of the outer berth of the Explosives Handling Jetty (EHJ) to ensure its proper deployment. The role involves overseeing workstreams that increase berth availability to enhance submarine programme resilience. WPM2 will support other projects within the team, shifting priorities as needed to achieve the highest priority tasks. The role requires extensive liaison with external organizations to gather information for detailed planning. Work priorities are set by the Superintendent through the Nuclear Enterprise Portfolio Officer (NEPO). The WPM2 will regularly brief the Superintendent and NEPO on project development and status.

Key tasks include:

  1. Develop and maintain project plans for new capabilities at Coulport.
  2. Maintain a comprehensive view of projects, studies, and assessments impacting Coulport equities.
  3. Coordinate and oversee project activities within Business as Usual (BAU).
  4. Support the development of Business Cases for investment decisions.
  5. Liaise with SALUS regarding space allocation for infrastructure at Coulport.
  6. Collaborate with DIO to develop infrastructure designs.
  7. Manage assumptions, risks, budgets, and report project progress.
  8. Track capabilities from introduction to retirement to meet operational requirements.
  9. Brief SADC on project updates to inform HMNB Clyde and senior stakeholders.
  10. Represent NEPO-C at meetings to support portfolio delivery.
  11. Support the development and communication of programme and project information to meet senior customer needs.
